I grew up with three languages under one roof — Czech from my mother, French from my father, and English as the language that held it all together. Long before I taught a single lesson, language was simply how our family understood each other.

That's still what language means to me: not a subject to get right, but a way in. Every new language is a door to more people, more places, and more ways of seeing things — the friendships you couldn't have had otherwise, the jokes that only land in their original tongue, the version of a place you only get to know once you can ask about it in its own words.

It's why I teach through conversation rather than grammar drills. Real connection is built with words exchanged, not rules memorized — so my lessons start with speaking, and the grammar follows to support that, not the other way around. Alongside each language, I bring in the culture it grew from: how people actually talk, joke, and live day to day in Czechia, France, and the English-speaking world. Learning a language, done well, is really learning to move through someone else's world.
